Il Camerun ha liberato con una operazione militare 900 ostaggi di Boko Haram

Mercoledì 2 dicembre, l'esercito del Camerun insieme a una task force regionale avrebbe liberato circa 900 ostaggi dalle mani di Boko Haram, uccidendo un centinaio di militanti del gruppo estremista.

L'annuncio è stato dato dal ministro della Difesa del Paese Joseph Beti Assomo, in una dichiarazione alla radio di stato: "Un'operazione speciale di rastrellamento è stata condotta del 26 al 28 novembre contro i combattenti", ha spiegato.

L'attacco rivolto Boko Haram è stata svolto nella parte settentrionale del Paese, al confine con la Nigeria, dove il gruppo terroristico è più attivo.

Cameroon says frees 900 Boko Haram hostages in military operation
Yaounde - Cameroon's army, with backing from a regional anti-Boko Haram task force, have killed at least 100 militants from the Islamist militant group and freed 900 people it had held hostage, the army and defence ministry said on Wednesday.

"In the course of this operation, at least 100 members of Boko Haram were killed. Nine hundred hostages detained by Boko Haram were freed," said army spokesman Colonel Didier Badjeck.
